Eudora Welty once said that a good snapshot stops a moment from running away. Scottsboro is lucky among small towns to have had many of its moments and citizens captured in photos. There are wonderful images of our town and its people on postcards, family photos, and photos of buildings and events.

We have even had a number of famous photographers pass through town and leave their records of our people and places in the national and state archives.

Ordering photo reprints

You can order prints of any of the photos seen in the photo archive at a cost of $5 for a 4 x 6 or $10 for an 8 x 10. The museum's copies of some photos are of such low resolution that only a 4 x 6 of sufficient resolution and quality can be produced.
