Senator Thomas Benton Parks

Thomas B. Parks was born March 27, 1832, and died May 24, 1918. He was the son of John and Ruth (Brown) Parks, early settlers of this region. He was a farmer, Methodist minister, and a postmaster at Collum, Alabama. His first wife was Martha Ann Hudgins, daughter of Benjamin Hudgins. After the death of his first wife, he married Mary Jane Pierce (daughter of Solomon B. and Virginia Pierce) died October 27, 1877, he married Elizabeth (Brown) Hornbuckle. He is buried with his wife Elizabeth, in the Burgess Cemetery in Scottsboro. He served in the Alabama House of Representatives 1890-1891.
